Our science

Precision wellness, held to a standard you can audit.

Every glowvita formulation follows the same four-chapter discipline — from where an ingredient grows to the published proof that it works. This page is that discipline, in order.

01

Sourcing

A named molecule, not a plant claim

Acemannan is a uniquely structured polysaccharide rich in mannose, isolated from the gel of the aloe vera leaf. We name the molecule rather than print “aloe extract,” because the isolated, intact structure is what four decades of research were actually run on.

Stabilized, or it isn't acemannan

The first stabilized acemannan entered government-monitored human studies in 1985 — the year Carrington Laboratories was founded and funded to isolate, stabilize, and develop it. Stabilization is the whole difference between documented material and generic aloe, so we treat it as a sourcing requirement, not a bonus.

02

Formulation

Mannose is the point

Mannose is the primary monosaccharide cells require to code glycoproteins — the surface structures cells use to recognize and communicate with each other. Acemannan's value in a formula is that it supplies mannose in the form the research used, so we build it in as a base rather than dust it on top.

Eight saccharides, three common

Glycoprotein synthesis draws on eight saccharides: mannose, glucose, galactose, fucose, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine, N-acetylneuraminic acid, and xylose. Only three are common in a modern diet — the other five are the entire reason a glyconutrient formula exists.

The eight

Mannose · glucose · galactose · fucose · N-acetylglucosamine · N-acetylgalactosamine · N-acetylneuraminic acid · xylose.

03

Testing

Identity means structure

Confirming “contains aloe” proves nothing. Identity has to confirm the acetylated, beta-bonded polysaccharide structure and its molecular weight distribution — acetylation and molecular size are the properties the research assumed, and the properties that separate stabilized acemannan from a generic aloe powder.

Three checkpoints, per lot

Raw material, blend, and finished batch are each third-party tested for identity, potency, heavy metals, and microbial safety — and every jar carries the lot number that pulls up its own certificates, not a generic promise.

What we measure

Acetylated beta-bonded structure · molecular weight distribution · mannose content · potency · heavy metals · microbial safety.

04

Proof

A public record to stand on

The acemannan record isn't recent marketing. 90 catalogued studies from 1987–1993 alone, plus 46 supplemental references, presented at venues including the IV International Conference on AIDS (Stockholm, 1988) and the International Congress of Phytotherapy (Seoul, 1991) — and over 300 peer-reviewed studies meta-analyzed in The Science Behind Aloe.

Published results, honest limits

We publish our own testing outcomes and formulation rationales where anyone can read them, including the results that were merely adequate. And we say the obvious part out loud: ingredient research is not product proof, so our claims keep to biology's schedule — energy in weeks, visible skin change over a renewal cycle.

On the record

90 catalogued acemannan studies (1987–1993) · 46 supplemental references · 300+ peer-reviewed studies meta-analyzed · continuing peer review in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (2013) and the Journal of Dietary Supplements (2018, 2019).

Our scientists

Four decades of cellular nutrition research stand behind these formulas.

Our standards did not start with glowvita. They inherit a research lineage built over forty years of work on acemannan, glyconutrients, and how cells actually take nutrition in.
